About Us
TOETOE takes protecting your privacy and security very seriously. We will ensure that any information we obtain and use will always be used and transferred in compliance with all applicable data protection regulations.
We will not pass on your details to anyone else without your consent.
We collect statistics about site performance, sales and other commercial information which we pass on to trusted third parties to advise us in improving the service we provide to you.
You may opt out of the various uses of your personal information at any time, even if you have previously given your consent for us to use them.
Cookies
A Web page server leaves a "cookie," a very small text file, on your hard drive. Cookies, unique to individual computers, store your unique ID to track returning customers against our database servers. Please note that, TOETOE does not store any customer sensitive information in our cookies to increase your security when visiting our site.
Cookies can remain on a single computer, but are NEVER used to store sensitive customer information such as passwords, addresses, e-mail address, phone numbers, credit card information, etc.

Security
When you place an order online, your personal information and credit card information are encrypted using SSL encryption technology before being sent over the Internet, making it virtually impossible for your information to be stolen or intercepted while being transferred to us. We use secure server which safeguards shopping transactions over the Internet by encoding information passing between computers at different locations. Using our secure server means that your credit card number, name, address, and other information are guarded as it travels to us. This is accomplished using a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL).
Security checks
As part of our policy to protect against the fraudulent use of credit/debit cards, we carry out random security checks on orders. These can take various forms, and from time to time it may be necessary for us to ask you to provide a copy of a recent statement header for the card being used on your order. Please note that we are only interested in confirming information already provided on your order, i.e. the billing name and address and card issuer details, and do not need to see actual transactions, which can be covered up.
In case you have any concerns regarding security, we can assure you that all information is shredded as soon as we have confirmed the details required. We hope you appreciate that this is undertaken in the interests of fraud prevention, and is a necessary precaution.
Accounts and passwords
Your account contains your delivery and billing details, email preferences and a record of your orders. You will need your email address and password to see or edit your personal details. Please note that we do not store your credit card details online.
We know that many customers don't like passwords, so we now also offer the option to shop at TOESOCKS.co.uk without one. You will still need an email address, which will be used to confirm receipt and despatch of your order, and to communicate with you in case of any problems. Should you not choose a password, our system will automatically issue one to you at random, however you have the choice whether you use this or not. If you do decide to do so at a later stage, you can then amend it to a password of your choice. Please note that each time you select this method of shopping, you will need to re-enter all your details again, as they cannot be retrieved without a password.
Opting in / out
TOETOE offers visitors opportunities to receive ad hoc emails, vouchers, regular emails and catalogues, some of these are opt-in, others are opt-out. Each opportunity will explicitly state whether it is opt-in or opt-out.
